Fragmentary Portraits gallery
Each human being is a complex of gestures, expressive movements, moods and emotions, always in flux. Rather than draw the full face or figure, I prefer to focus on parts of a person (such as hands and feet), as this seems to capture that person’s essence more effectively. These fragmentary portraits also more accurately convey the intimacy and experience of how we actually view spouses, partners, children, friends and others with whom we are close.
