These embroideries of a male figure standing, bending, twisting and flexing were inspired by illustrations in an anatomy book for artists from the early 20th century. While the text from the book (describing in extensive detail what happens to each muscle as the figure moves) was tedious to read, isolated fragments of the text nevertheless struck me as poetic, and thus I included these fragments.
